Who Am I?
Who am I and why should you listen or read my advice, articles, experience or suggestions? Well obviously it’s your choice however my name is Sylita Thomas and I am a professional basketball player, computer programmer, and internet entrepreneur and consultant since 1999.
I entered Georgetown University in 1995 with goals of a getting a degree from a prestigious university first and foremost. Using my full basketball scholarship as a catalyst and funding for my future after basketball. I had the blessing and luck of having God given talents to do both well on the basketball court and in my studies.
Upon my graduation in 1999 I wanted to pursue my goals of playing professional basketball in the USA or overseas basketball. With the help of an ex-teammate and basketball agent I landed my first job playing basketball in Finland and made my passage all the way to Spain.
Both countries and experiences helped me grow as a person and professional. I’ve learned two languages and fluent in one. I’ve been able to make friends not only from basketball but off the court those relationships have helped me widen my perspective in life, basketball and my professional work.
The purpose of this website is not to bore you with my story but to help you plan ahead your future after basketball. Why is this important?
Well there are so many circumstances that in life may await you while you’re on your journey toward your life of playing basketball as a professional, collegiate or in high school. Hopefully with my experiences I can guide you to a prosperous life.
Everything that I write is honest and comes from my heart and would suggest the same to my best friend or a stranger. I have always prided myself in sharing information and always learning from others. Also, to treat those how I would like to be treated.
So if you’re ready to begin your future after basketball without fear but with determination and confidence. You and only you can control your destiny.
As I write this the economy is in its worst state since The Great Depression. There are many people without jobs, homeless and fighting to survive. So obtaining a career outside of sports is impeccable and quite important. Benefits, job security and other advantages are more important in the long run.
So read through the website and make any questions or comments where you see fit.
